ProQuip innovate for 2010 Ryder Cup

ProQuip, has been appointed official weatherwear supplier to the European Ryder Cup team for the 2010 matches at Celtic Manor, Wales.

This is the third consecutive match the North Berwick-based company has supplied the European Team with their weatherwear having made rain suits at The K Club in 2006 and Valhalla in 2008.

The ultra-lightweight Silk Touchwas an iconic part of the 2006 Ryder Cup as it played an important role for Ian Woosnam’s victorious team at The K Club, where the elements had a big impact.

In 2008 ProQuip worked closely with Nick Faldo to develop TourFlex, the first ultra-lightweight, plain weave fabric with two-way stretch throughout.

Work has already started on developing the suit for Celtic Manor 2010 and Richard Head, ProQuip Managing Director and Chief Designer, says it will be the best ProQuip has ever made.

He said: “The past two suits we have designed for the European Ryder Cup team have been highly innovative and hugely successful. Our aim for 2010 is to go even further and make another great suit, which will give the European Team the edge at Celtic Manor.”
